The International Vessel Operators Hazardous Materials Association

VOHMA's primary focus is to foster the safe handling of hazardous materials, as well as to offer the expertise of the ocean carriers in forging regulatory development. VOHMA is an active participant and enjoys consultative status at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the UN Committee of Experts (UNCOE) on the Transport of Dangerous Goods. VOHMA actively comments on proposed regulations and is in frequent contact with the Department of Transportation's Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) and the US Coast Guard.
