VOHMA Membership Benefits:
Represent members' interests at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the United Nations
Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (UNCOE).
This representation, one of our largest budget items, saves our
companies tens of thousands of dollars a year by averting the adoption
of impractical or overly restrictive regulations prior to their
inclusion in the UN Model Regulations or the IMDG Code. VOHMA also
provides detailed IMO and UN Reports on the meetings.
Representation at the US DOT and US Coast Guard - Comments and petitions to the US DOT on rulemaking
activity to stop impractical rulemakings before they become law.
'Enterprise' partnership with the US DOT and UN Sub Committee of Experts on Transport of Dangerous Goods to assist in the identification
and elimination of impediments to multi-modal transportation and facilitate e-commerce.
Access to internationally recognized dangerous goods consultant, VOHMA
administrator, John Currie, and other technical experts. VOHMA's roster of Dangerous Goods
consultants stand ready to assist member companies. Where issues affect a broad portion of the membership, these
consultations are included in your annual dues. Company specific penalty mitigation, questions, expert witness
testimony, on-site training, etc. are available to members at discounted consulting rates.
Meetings featuring industry leaders and key regulators from around the globe - an opportunity to interact with key regulators in an informal environment.
Availability of first class training designed by and for the maritime industry.
Availability and discounts on the regulatory publications you need (49 CFR, IMDG
Code, Placards, Training Programs, ADR, UN Model Regulations, and more).
VOHMA leads the way on ensuring that IMDG Code pricing is kept to affordable levels.
