Quality Hazmat training provided by technical experts
The US DOT requires hazmat employers to provide
hazardous materials training to ensure each "hazmat
employee has familiarity with the general provisions of Subchapter C, 49 CFR and is able
to recognize and identify hazardous materials, has knowledge of specific requirements
Hazardous Materials Training - VOHMA Offers 49 CFR Training, IMDG Code & HAZMAT Training
applicable to functions performed by the employee, and has knowledge of emergency response
information, self-protection measures and accident prevention methods and
procedures." Failure to train employees can result in heavy fines and increase
exposure to liability.
49 CFR, Part 172, Subpart H, requires that all hazardous
materials employees must be trained within
90 days of starting employment and must receive recurrent training at least every three
years. Job changes and regulatory amendments may require retraining.
DOT authorizes training in the modal regulations for international and intermodal
shippers and carriers.
The Vessel Operators Hazardous Materials Association, an International association of
hazardous materials experts, has designed this series of one and three day hazardous
materials training programs to enable shippers, consolidators, forwarders, carriers and
all other hazmat employees in the transportation industry to avail themselves of the best training available while
meeting the training requirements of the US DOT.

employees throughout the transportation industry - operations managers, traffic managers,
shipping and receiving personnel, import/export specialists, transportation managers and
other employees of carriers, forwarders, third party shipping agents, shippers and
enforcement personnel.
Each course includes testing and certification.
International Maritime
Dangerous Goods Seminar
A
three day program that provides hazmat employees with a working knowledge of the
latest regulations contained in the IMDG Code, published by the International
Maritime Organization, that governs the transportation of dangerous goods by
vessel both domestically and internationally, is also offered. There are no
pre-requisites and entry-level as well as experienced dangerous goods
professionals will find the course very beneficial. Training subjects include
classification, packaging, marking, labeling, placarding, documenting, handling,
shipping, stowing, segregating, transporting, or otherwise engaging in commerce
within the scope of the IMDG Code and 49 CFR in the US. Such activities include
shipments intended solely for transportation by vessel and those which involve
